Croatia named top sailing destination!


Sailing Croatia launched its first Yacht charter reportrevealing that the call of the sea is stronger than ever with a huge increase in demand for sailing holidays in 2022 and a clear preference for Croatia as the ideal destination for one.

The report confirms that Croatia is the most popular sailing destination in 2022 – with more than 38% of yacht charter bookings worldwide taking place in the country and interest in Google search increasing by 124% by compared to searches for “sailing in Croatia” in 2021.

The small vessel operator noted that overall online searches for “sailboat charter” and “catamaran charter” increased by 22% and 21% respectively, compared to 2021, and that there were more than 27,000 average monthly searches for the keyword “Yacht rental”.

The report offers the most comprehensive overview of the global yacht charter market in 2022, revealing that the average price of a yacht charter in 2022 was €4,420.

Monohulls have proven to be the preferred vessel choice, with sailing yachts accounting for 65% of yacht charter vessels globally, and Bavaria has been named the world’s most popular yacht brand, accounting for 19% of the global fleet yacht charter in 22. .

58% of sailboats worldwide are less than 5 years old, showing a clear increase in new builds across the industry.
