Frontier Communications has partnered with Nokia to connect 100,000 homes to XGS-PON broadband technology.

Frontier uses Nokia technology to power its fiber optics and provide services that will enable high-speed connectivity, reliability and network capacity for residential customers.

Specifically, XGS-PON technology provides the capacity needed for high bandwidth applications including HD interactive video, cloud computing, virtual reality and IoT.

In related news, earlier this month Frontier entered into a multi-year partnership with Red Ventures to expand its digital capabilities as Frontier expands its fiber footprint.
