Staying connected is easy with Globe’s wide range of Roam Surf deals for as little as P149 a day. Choose from full access data packs like Roam Surf Longer Stay or app-only data packs like Roam Facebook, Roam Viber and Roam WhatsApp. These data roaming offers are available with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Besides data, regular calls and texts are also available with T-Mobile, which still supports 2G services.

Earlier this year, AT&T retired its 3G network technology while its 2G network has already been shut down since 2017. Due to this network reconfiguration, Globe roamers in the United States can no longer make and receive calls regular schedules and send and receive text messages via AT&T.

Android users can simply go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM information and settings > Operator, then turn off “Auto-select” to have the device scan for other available networks in the area. It may take some time until all networks are loaded. Choose T-Mobile as your preferred network.

For iPhone users, go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Plans > Network Selection > then turn off “Automatic”, then choose T-Mobile. For prepaid customers, it is recommended to set the phone to 2G mode if there is no active Roam Surf subscription.

If the AT&T signal is stronger in the area where the person is located, affordable data roaming promotions are available so that one can make and receive calls and messages through favorite messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Viber, WhatsApp or WeChat.

“As our global partners shut down their 2G and 3G technologies, we want to make sure our customers will still have a worry-free roaming experience abroad. We’ve made Roam Surf more affordable even for long journeys so they can stay contactable and always online for the duration of their stay,” said Coco Domingo, Vice President, Globe Postpaid and International Business.

Signing up for roaming promotions is now made easy with the GlobeOne app. Once registered, easily track usage through the app’s main dashboard.
