A historic southerly swell will continue to form today, generating warning level waves along southerly facing coastlines from today through Sunday. This southerly swell is expected to slowly subside during the first half of next week.

The surf along the east facing shores will remain high and choppy early into next week. A high surf advisory has been issued for the east facing shores of the Big Island for the combined high and choppy trade wind swell and swell generated by Tropical Storm Darby through tonight.

Conditions: Light sideshore texture in the morning with SSE winds of 5-10 mph. Choppy/coastal current conditions for the afternoon with winds moving SE at 15-20 mph.
