Evergreen Credit Union Expands Membership Area

Those who live, work, worship or attend schools in Androscoggin, Oxford, Sagadahoc and Lincoln counties can now access all the financial services Evergreen Credit Union has to offer.

The Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions granted the expansion; Evergreen had only served York and Cumberland counties. Forbes recently named the credit union one of its Best Credit Unions in the State 2022 for Maine.

Hiring, promotions, appointments


Therese Cahillformer Director of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Child and Family Services and Constituent Services of the Office of the Secretary of State, is the new Executive Director of the Maine Board of Trustees Dental Association.

Esther K. Bizier has been promoted to Director of Main-Land Falmouth for Main-Land Development Consultants, Inc. Bizier will assist clients with technical and land advisory services in the Falmouth office. Bizier serves on the board of the Maine Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and served as chapter president in 2021.



John A. Taylor, DO, of Mid Coast Medical Group – Neurology was named Louis Hanson, DO, Physician of the Year by the Maine Osteopathic Association at the group’s June awards luncheon at the Samoset Resort in Rockland. According to the MOA, the award is given to an osteopathic physician who “has demonstrated high quality practice, a compassionate interest in patients, and a commitment to their community.”

Cristina M. Message of Freeport has been approved by the Association of Educational Therapists as an Educational Therapist/Professional.

Jared Lamethe owner of SERVPRO of Portland, received the Platinum Founder’s Award when SERVPRO held its 53rd annual convention July 5-9 in Dallas. Shawn Coxowner of SERVPRO of Bath/Brunswick, received the President’s Platinum Award.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine has been recognized as the 2021 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Quality Award winners. Out of approximately 230 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies nationwide, BBBSSM is one of only 53 organizations to receive the highest honor.


Maine’s First Ship received a $4,000 Community Building Fund grant from the Maine Community Foundation to collect and release in film form the informal oral histories of the volunteers who helped rebuild the 17th-century sailing ship, Virginia.

Eight organizations serving Lincoln and Sagadahoc county residents in need of emergency food assistance and shelter will receive $69,604 in funds from the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program, including Bath Area Family YMCA, New Hope Midcoast, Spectrum Generations – Meals on Wheels and Tedford Housing.

More than $30,000 in Maine Community Foundation grants will support hospice services in southern Maine for the Center for Grieving Children, Portland, to provide peer support groups for grieving children in person and expand online programming; Harbor Singers, Saco, to provide bedside singing to people living in residential homes and settlements; and Southern Maine Agency on Aging, Biddeford.

Dunkin’ of Maine and Eastern New Hampshire raised $55,000 for Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center through the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. With this year’s grant, the hospital will hire a dedicated gaming and technology assistant. The new position is part of the Child Care team and ensures that BBCH has fully functional equipment, connectivity and games for patients to use.
