OC Fair opens Friday, food, fun and favorites


ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Friday, the Orange County Fair returns for a 23-day race.

The fair takes place from July 16 to August. 15, and with limited daily capacity, tickets could sell out. Advance admission purchase is required; visit ocfair.com or download the OC Fair 2021 mobile app.

“Bringing the OC Fair back to our community means our staff can do what we love to do and what we do best – make people happy! Said Michele Richards, CEO of OC Fair & Event Center. “The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Time to Have Fun’, and it couldn’t be more fitting.”

Plenty of entertainment is planned each day with activities ranging from exploring the animals at the petting zoo to visiting exhibits and local groups performing on community stages.

New rides will debut at this year’s show featuring Windsurf, Moonraker, and New York New York midway through the main carnival. Winky the Whale and Liberty Wheel will be new attractions in the children’s carnival. There will be over 35 games, offering festival-goers plenty of ways to win giant stuffed animals and other prizes.

A new show, Piano Madness, featuring dueling pianists, will perform nightly in Plaza Pacifica. More evening music will come from the Hangar performances and festival-goers can enjoy the party in the main mall.

For kids and families, Explorium is taking to the OC Promenade this year with special activities designed to help toddlers venture into the great outdoors and national parks of California. The magic of Frank Thurston will be entertained there every day.

At Centennial Farm, festival-goers can learn from OC beekeepers, UCCE OC master gardeners, California rare fruit growers and more. There are also milking demonstrations and displays of produce and flowers, as well as the resident animals and crops of the farm.

In the breeding area there are more animals to teach and entertain. Exhibits and demonstrations include Oasis Camel Dairy, Frisian horses, game birds, sheep, goats, llamas and urban cattle.

Let’s talk about FOOD.

At the OC Fair, you can always expect fried, fried, and fried with a hint of OMG that is more than delicious.

Have you thought about the Hot Cheeto ‘n’ Cheese Burger at Biggys?

Or how about a waffle cone stuffed with Buffalo chicken and mac and cheese?

Looking for something so delicious and a little less adventurous? Try the Taco de Tripa or the Taco De Lengua with fresh Mexican seafood from Pepe’s Mariscos.

Try the Yum Yum Watermelon Taco with Tajin and Cowboy Kettle Corn.

How about Buffalo Brownies with Ice Cream at Chicken Charlies.

Top it off with a Dutchmen’s banana cream funnel cake for dessert.

The OC Fair added more tables and shaded seating for meals and increased sanitizing procedures to help keep everyone safe.

Visitors should purchase their tickets in advance at no charge at ocfair.com. Festival goers should make sure to get tickets for Special Days and Group Adventures now, as days with limited daily capacity may sell out.

To know about the OC 2021 Fair:

  • A limited number of tickets are available each day.
  • Online advance ticket sales only – no transaction fees
  • Tickets are only valid for the date of purchase; please choose dates carefully – no refunds.
  • Same-day admission to the fair is included with tickets for concerts during the fair OC Fair does not currently plan to increase capacity
  • Ticket prices will not increase Sales no longer restricted to California residents
  • Masks are mandatory indoors for unvaccinated guests

Tickets are $ 12 general admission weekdays (Wednesday, Thursday) and $ 14 general admission weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Admission for seniors (60+) and youth (6-12) is $ 7 per day and children 5 and under are free.

The 2021 OC Fair mobile app is now available with information on daily activities and a map, news and information and tickets. Search for “fair 2021” in your app store.

The Fair will open daily at 10 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at midnight on weekends.

General parking is still $ 10, $ 20 for buses and limos, credit card only.

The free shuttle to Experian and OCTA’s OC Fair Express bus service will not be available this year. Carnival tickets are also on sale now so festival-goers can skip the ticket offices, and tickets for the Hangar and Pacific Amphitheater concerts can be found at www.ocfair.com/ entertainment
