Port of Karachi and Port Qasim Activities – Markets


KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 149,143 tonnes of cargo comprising 110,052 tonnes of imported cargo and 39,091 tonnes of exported cargo in the last 24 hours ending at 07:00.

The total import cargo of 110,052 includes 42,134 tonnes of containerized cargo, 40,869 tonnes of bulk cargo, 1,936 tonnes of DAP and 25,113 tonnes of oil and liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 39,091 tons included 38,308 tons of containerized cargo and 783 tons of rice.

A total of 6,966 containers comprising 3,113 import containers and 3,853 export containers were handled in the past 24 hours on Tuesday.

The distribution of imported containers shows 593 containers of 20 and 1127 of 40 loaded while 02 containers of 20 and 132 containers of 40 empty, while that of exported containers shows 658 containers of 20 and 768 containers of 40 loaded while 269 containers of 20 and 695 containers of 40 empty containers were handled during business hours.

About 05 ships, namely V Pacific, MT Quetta, Kyoto Express, YM Excellence and Shanghai Voyager have docked at the Port of Karachi.

Some 09 vessels, namely Ningbo Express, Jewel of Shinas, Al Shaffiah, Chemtrans Arctic, Safeen Pioneer, Sana and Hans Schulte, Teera Bhum and Northern Dexterity left Karachi port.

About 06 shipments namely Saehan Kostar Ethnol, Bangkok Bridge container, G Bright Cehemical, MT Lahore Grude Oil, New Raouf Pipes and Ocean Royal Wheat in Bulk were expected to arrive at the port.


A total of 09 ships have been committed to the PQA berths in the past 24 hours, among them, 02 other ships, Bangkok Bridge and MSC Qingdao left port on Tuesday morning, while 03 other ships , Maersk Brooklyn, Indian Harmony and Saehan Kostar are expected. sailing today in the afternoon.

A cargo throughput of 119,564 tonnes, comprising 81,042 tonnes of imported cargo and 38,522 tonnes of exported cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,737` containers (1,471 TEUs import and 2,266 TEUs outbound). export) has been processed at the port within the last 24 hours.

There are 08 ships in Outer Anchorage from Port Qasim, of which 02 ships, Captain Haddock and Bow Neon and another ship, Maersk Detroit carrying coal, acetic acid and containers are expected to take place at PIBT, EVTL and QICT on Tuesday July 5-2022.
