UPDATE: Queensland registers two new cases of locally acquired coronavirus

A surf club, seaside resort and Woolworths supermarket are among the latest sites in Queensland to be exposed to COVID-19.

Health authorities on Friday evening expanded the list of exhibition sites to include sites in Coolangatta, North Kirra and Tugun, just hours after the state recorded two new local infections.

The scene is said to be linked to one of the cases – a man who was contagious in the southern Gold Coast this week while staying at the Iconic Kirra Beach Resort with his family.

Public health chief Jeannette Young said on Friday that the man who was contagious in the community of Kirra and Coolangatta between Saturday and Wednesday was her main concern.
