Updates to pre-sailing testing requirements for Disney Cruise Line

If you have an upcoming Disney cruise, there have been a lot of changes when it comes to testing and different safety protocols. Here is the latest information that has been communicated to us.

What is happening:

  • This will apply to all sailings departing from a US or Canadian port on or after June 7.
  • The vaccine requirement is still in place for all customers eligible to travel on Disney Cruise Line. This requirement applies to all guests aged five and over.
  • Starting June 7, the following COVID-19 testing requirements will come into effect.

Guests who are not eligible for the vaccine:

  • Passengers who are not eligible for the vaccine due to their age must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result that was taken no later than three days prior to their departure date.
  • The test must be a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), rapid PCR test or laboratory PCR test and must be paid for by the customer. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted.
  • Passengers who are not eligible for the vaccine due to age must also take a second COVID-19 test (paid for by Disney Cruise Line and administered by Inspire Diagnostics) at the terminal prior to boarding.

Fully Vaccinated Guests:

  • Passengers who are fully immunized and departing on a cruise from US and Canadian ports must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid by the passenger) taken no later than 2 days prior to their departure date.
  • It must be a rapid antigen test observed by a medical professional through a medical facility or telehealth provider and it may be a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), a rapid PCR test or a laboratory PCR test.
  • Customers can purchase COVID-19 tests from any independent testing provider.
  • Test results for all passengers must be uploaded to the Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day.
  • Fully immunized passengers who do not upload required pre-trip test results to the Safe Passage website by midnight prior to boarding day must be tested at the terminal prior to boarding and will be charged. The cost of boarding tests for fully vaccinated passengers will be $74 plus tax for the initial antigen test and, if required, $125 plus tax for a confirmatory PCR test, billed at the time of service.
