Windstar’s reinvented Star Breeze yacht to start sailing in Tahiti on September 19

US-based small-ship cruise line Windstar Cruises resumed sailing this week in French Polynesia and Tahiti with guests and crew vaccinated against Covid-19 aboard its 148-passenger Wind Spirit.

Windstar offers a round-trip flight package with pre-cruise accommodation, ground transfers to Tahiti, and a seven, 10 or 11-night boutique cruise in French Polynesia. The cruise offer also includes a complimentary drink package or guests can choose a credit to use for onboard experiences such as spa treatments or shore excursions.

The new Star Breeze, consisting only of suites and 312 passengers, will join Wind Spirit in Tahiti from September 19 to March 2022. Customers will also be able to attend a free private event available on all Tahiti cruises. This includes a private beach party and a kinetic fire dance performance.

“Windstar glides through small bays that other cruise ships cannot reach and drops anchor in some of the most beautiful islands on the planet like Bora Bora and Moorea,” said Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar. “Because French Polynesia is such a popular destination for romance, most guests book these itineraries well in advance, resulting in pent-up demand on a small yacht with limited space after a year of cancellations. honeymoons and birthday trips. These intimate cruises fill up quickly.

The cruise line is gradually returning its ships to service. Wind Star resumed service on June 19 in Greece and Star Breeze began sailing in the Caribbean on July 10. Wind Surf will resume service on August 8 in the Mediterranean, Star Legend on September 4 in Northern Europe and Star Pride on November 3 in the Caribbean.

It will also require all passengers and crew to be vaccinated and employ a number of health and safety precautions, including testing, social distancing, masks and high-tech air filtration.
